Job Summary:
The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician in the hospital pharmacy is responsible for providing essential support to pharmacists and ensuring efficient pharmacy operations. The role includes duties such as customer service, data entry, answering phone calls, and pulling medication. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in pharmacy work. This position requires a local candidate (within 30 minutes or accessible by public transportation due to limited parking).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prescription Management: Accept written prescriptions or refill requests from patients, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the information.
  • Medical History & Confidentiality: Record medical histories while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Customer Service: Provide high-quality customer service by answering patient inquiries, addressing concerns, and directing patients to the pharmacist for medical information.
  • Patient Information Verification: Verify the accuracy of patient information and ensure it is up-to-date in the system.
  • Prescription Processing: Count prescription medication, fill prescriptions, and accurately type and attach medication labels.
  • Inventory & Supplies: Conduct inventory audits, manage the purchasing of supplies and medications, and ensure proper stock levels.
  • Insurance Processing: Process patient insurance information accurately and efficiently.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient pharmacy setting.
  • Local Candidates Only: Must reside within 30 minutes of the location or be easily accessible by public transportation due to parking limitations.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
