The Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery is responsible for providing exceptional patient care during labor and delivery in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
This role requires expertise in managing high-risk obstetrics, interpreting telemetry strips, and circulating in the operating room.
Nurses in this role collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to labor and delivery patients, including those with high-risk obstetric conditions.
Independently read and interpret telemetry strips and demonstrate proficiency by passing a telemetry test (minimum 85%).
Perform OR circulator duties during labor and delivery-related procedures.
Monitor and document patient progress, ensuring adherence to established protocols and best practices.
Maintain and update certifications, including BLS and NRP, with completed lessons and no expiration during the assignment.
Demonstrate expertise in fetal monitoring and apply knowledge gained from Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring courses (preferably AWHONN).
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care in labor rooms, operating rooms, and triage settings.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse license.
Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery RN experience, including OR circulator experience.
Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips and pass the telemetry test (minimum 85%).
Valid certifications in BLS and NRP (with all lessons completed and no expiration during assignment).
Completion of an Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course, preferably AWHONN.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high-risk obstetrics.
Completion of a Dysrhythmia/Telemetry Interpretation Course.
