Registered Nurse - Step Down

Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care unit, you will play an essential role in providing high-quality care to critically ill patients. Using a patient-centered care approach, you will be supported by a dedicated nursing organization, enabling you to deliver the exceptional care that patients deserve. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
  • Collaborate with a diverse healthcare team, communicating effectively with colleagues, patients, and their families.
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Maintain and update accurate patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and patient progress.
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information to monitor patient conditions and support decision-making.
  • Follow established guidelines and policies set by the client nursing organization to maintain high standards of care.
  • Assist the leadership team in quality improvement initiatives and projects to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state.
  • Experience in a Critical Care or Step-Down unit preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with patients and their families.
  • Proficient in using computerized medical records and data systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Critical Care or Step-Down unit is highly preferred.
  • Additional certifications in Critical Care nursing (e.g., CCRN) are a plus.

Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
