The Registered Nurse - Ambulatory is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care through telephone triage, patient education, and care coordination. In this role, you will manage callbacks for sick or urgent concerns, collaborate with healthcare providers, and ensure effective patient outcomes. This position demands strong communication and time-management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide telephone triage to patients, assessing symptoms and advising on appropriate care or treatment.
Educate patients on managing their health conditions, treatments, and preventive care strategies.
Coordinate patient care by collaborating with healthcare providers and ensuring timely follow-up.
Manage and prioritize callbacks for sick or urgent patient concerns, ensuring timely responses.
Document patient interactions and care provided, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Work collaboratively with other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
Assist with patient scheduling and referrals as necessary to ensure continuity of care.
Required Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to provide clear instructions and guidance over the phone.
Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Experience in a clinical or ambulatory care setting is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in telephone triage or ambulatory care nursing.
Knowledge of patient care coordination and healthcare provider collaboration.
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
