Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Pediatric Scrub Technician to join our team. This position will work Friday through Tuesday, with a day shift schedule, and will be required to be on-call. The role involves working across 3 Operating Rooms (ORs) and 2 Procedure Rooms, providing support for various pediatric service lines, including General Pediatrics, Urology, Orthopedics, ENT, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Dental, Endoscopy, and Pediatric Gynecology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in surgical procedures by providing sterile instrumentation and equipment.
- Support the surgical team during operations, ensuring all necessary instruments are available and sterile.
- Prepare and maintain operating rooms, ensuring they are set up properly for each procedure.
- Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization and safe handling.
- Assist in positioning patients for procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Monitor the environment of the operating room, maintaining a sterile field and complying with infection control standards.
- Respond to on-call requests and ensure readiness for emergency surgeries and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing education to maintain skills and certifications.
Required Qualifications:
- Certification as a Scrub Technician (CST) with an emphasis in Pediatrics.
- Proven experience in an OR setting, preferably in pediatrics.
- Familiarity with pediatric surgical procedures and specialized equipment.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick decisions during procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, especially in maintaining sterile environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability to meet on-call requirements and adjust to scheduling needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in pediatric service lines such as General Pediatrics, Urology, Orthopedics, ENT, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Dental, Endoscopy, and Pediatric Gynecology.
- Experience with specific pediatric surgical instrumentation and procedures.
Certifications:
- Certification as a Scrub Technician (CST).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (preferred).
