The ICU RN provides comprehensive care for patients with life-threatening conditions or comorbidities that require advanced organ support and invasive monitoring. This role demands critical thinking, extensive clinical knowledge, and the ability to respond quickly to the dynamic needs of high-acuity patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients, including those with conditions such as overdoses, post-surgery complications, trauma, and chronic illnesses.
Utilize advanced monitoring techniques to assess and interpret patient data, making informed decisions regarding patient care.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities using EPIC or other electronic health record systems.
Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including safety and infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
License/Certification:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Minimum of one (1) year of ICU experience.
Skills:
Proficient in computer charting, particularly using the EPIC system.
Must hold a valid nursing license; candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their license may not be eligible for emergency licensure.
