General Description

Under general supervision, this role provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population in a hospital setting, addressing health issues ranging from simple to complex. The position requires the ability to perform a variety of nursing duties, maintain effective communication, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.


Essential Responsibilities

The core responsibilities for this position include:

  1. Patient Care:

    • Manage and provide care for an assigned group of patients.
    • Monitor and document patient responses to interventions and treatments.
    • Recognize and address changes in patient conditions and physician orders.
  2. Support to Physicians:

    • Assist during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
    • Facilitate prescribed treatments and interventions.
  3. Data Monitoring:

    • Obtain and evaluate patient physiological data.
    • Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
  4. Communication & Education:

    • Engage with patients and families to communicate care plans.
    • Provide discharge planning and educate patients and families about hospital procedures.
  5. Collaboration:

    • Coordinate patient care needs with appropriate personnel.
    • Delegate tasks effectively to support staff.
  6. Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and standards.

General Responsibilities

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Responsive to cultural and language diversity among patients and visitors.
  • Basic computer skills.

Education Requirements

Required:

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a board-approved program or higher degree.

Certifications & Licensure

Required:

  • Active RN License (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact RN License [eNLC]).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Oncology certifications:
    • Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration (ONS).
    • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.

Education: Bachelors Degree

Certification: Basic Life support
