Under general supervision, this role provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population in a hospital setting, addressing health issues ranging from simple to complex. The position requires the ability to perform a variety of nursing duties, maintain effective communication, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Essential Responsibilities
The core responsibilities for this position include:
Patient Care:
Manage and provide care for an assigned group of patients.
Monitor and document patient responses to interventions and treatments.
Recognize and address changes in patient conditions and physician orders.
Support to Physicians:
Assist during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
Facilitate prescribed treatments and interventions.
Data Monitoring:
Obtain and evaluate patient physiological data.
Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
Communication & Education:
Engage with patients and families to communicate care plans.
Provide discharge planning and educate patients and families about hospital procedures.
Collaboration:
Coordinate patient care needs with appropriate personnel.
Delegate tasks effectively to support staff.
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and standards.
General Responsibilities
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.
Strong planning, coordination, and evaluation skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
Proficient in verbal and written communication.
Responsive to cultural and language diversity among patients and visitors.
Basic computer skills.
Education Requirements
Required:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a board-approved program or higher degree.
Certifications & Licensure
Required:
Active RN License (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact RN License [eNLC]).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Oncology certifications:
Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration (ONS).
