The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room is responsible for delivering patient care primarily to a geriatric population using the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will guide patient teaching, as well as supervise and direct the activities of ancillary personnel, while ensuring compliance with professional nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department, focusing on a primarily geriatric patient population.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, with preference given to those with Emergency Department experience.
Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and manage patients in emergency situations.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
Supervise and guide the activities of ancillary staff, ensuring a smooth workflow in the department.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Current, unrestricted RN license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Emergency Department nursing experience is highly preferred.
Critical care experience is a plus.
Certifications:
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification is preferred.
