We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the CVICU Pediatrics team.
This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients with a range of cardiovascular health conditions, from simple to complex.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing patient-centered care in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage an assigned group of pediatric patients, ensuring competent and compassionate care.
Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments, noting changes in physician orders.
Assist physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
Monitor physiological data, observe patient conditions, and intervene when necessary.
Administer prescribed medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products.
Communicate care plans effectively with patients and their families, ensuring understanding of hospital procedures and discharge instructions.
Make referrals to appropriate personnel based on patient care needs.
Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
At least one year of nursing experience.
Strong knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, and procedures.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program.
Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
Certifications
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support, American Heart Association).
RN License (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact).
Basic Life Support (American Heart Association).
