Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Unit, providing high-quality care to patients with cardiac and neurological conditions. This unit provides care for patients requiring cardiac bedside monitoring, post-heart catheterization recovery, stroke/neuro patients, and overflow BIPAP cases. The nurse will manage a varied patient load, including the administration of cardiac drips, TR bands, and critical monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac and neuro patients, including monitoring cardiac drips, TR bands, and post-heart cath recovery.
- Manage patients with neurological conditions, including stroke and neuro stepdown patients.
- Administer BIPAP treatments for overflow patients.
- Perform bedside monitoring and ensure the overall stability of cardiac patients.
- Take responsibility for patient assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and providing patient education.
- Work collaboratively with a team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and Nurse Interns (NIs).
- Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition with appropriate interventions.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid and unrestricted RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
- Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in cardiac or neuro nursing is preferred.
