Job Summary:
The Telehealth Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of virtual healthcare services, ensuring high-quality remote patient care. This position involves utilizing medical theory and clinical practice knowledge, operating medical equipment, and working in correctional facility environments, while adhering to safety and security regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of virtual healthcare services, ensuring adherence to safety, privacy, and security protocols.
  • Utilize medical theory and clinical knowledge to deliver remote patient care effectively.
  • Operate and manage medical equipment used in telehealth services, ensuring proper functioning and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Develop and implement efficient workflows for remote healthcare delivery to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide training to staff on telehealth equipment operations and usage.
  • Work in a correctional facility environment while complying with security regulations and understanding inmate behavior.
  • Interpret data, track trends, and perform analysis to improve the telehealth process.
  • Ensure compliance with health services policies and procedures specific to correctional facilities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of legal and ethical aspects of correctional medicine.

Required Qualifications:
  1. Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant Diploma or Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
  2. Experience: Prior experience in the delivery of virtual care and a working knowledge of medical theory, clinical practice, and patient care.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with prison custody, safety/security regulations, and inmate behavior.
  • Knowledge of telehealth platforms and equipment.

Key Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and medical/office equipment (e.g., stethoscope, computers).
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and develop remote healthcare workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to interpret healthcare data and track trends to enhance telehealth services.

Certifications:
  1. Certification or prior training in telehealth systems or related equipment is a plus.
