The ICU RN provides critical care for patients with life-threatening conditions or comorbidities that require sophisticated organ support and invasive monitoring. This role demands a highly skilled nurse who can think critically and act quickly in a challenging environment, ensuring optimal care for high-acuity patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing life-threatening conditions.
Monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, and manage ventilators as needed.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Assess and document patient conditions accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Respond to emergencies and intervene as necessary to stabilize patients.
Educate patients and their families regarding care plans and procedures.
License/Certification:
Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certification required.
Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience preferred.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in computer charting systems, specifically EPIC.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
