Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Life Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the psychosocial well-being of patients and families. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the psychosocial needs of pediatric patients ranging from neonates to 17 years old. The Child Life Therapist will provide support tailored to the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth of the child within both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessment & Care Planning: Assess and address the psychosocial needs of pediatric patients and their families, developing individualized care plans.
• Psychosocial Support: Offer emotional support to patients and families, acting as an advocate for their well-being during hospitalization and throughout the care process.
• Developmental Support: Plan and facilitate activities aimed at promoting the child’s growth across social, emotional, intellectual, and physical domains, utilizing age-appropriate principles of development.
• Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care for patients and families.
• Family Advocacy: Provide guidance and support to families, ensuring they have the resources they need to cope with the child’s healthcare journey.
• Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall patient and family experience.

Qualifications:

• Education: A degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
• Certification: Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) preferred.
• Experience: Experience working with pediatric populations in a hospital or healthcare setting is a plus.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
