The Inpatient Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse who, as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, provides nursing care to assigned patients. This role involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver quality care and ensure patient safety through maintaining a safe environment. The Inpatient Staff Nurse is responsible for determining how to effectively utilize the milieu to meet patient needs, and practices under the supervision of the Medical Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care to assigned patients as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Ensure patient safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide effective patient care.
Practice under the supervision of the Medical Director.
Required Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in psychiatric and geriatric nursing.
Knowledge of behavioral health nursing practices.
Certifications:
BLS certification required.
De-Escalation training required within 60 days of hire or transfer into the department.
Unit-Specific Education and Experience Requirements:
Psychiatric and geriatric nursing experience preferred.
Ongoing training and professional development required.
