Under general supervision, the ICU Medicine Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in a hospital setting, addressing a wide range of health issues from simple to complex.
This role requires effective management of patient care, clear communication with patients and families, and collaboration with healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage an assigned group of patients, ensuring personalized and responsive care.
Document patient responses to interventions and treatments, updating physician orders as necessary.
Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
Monitor and obtain physiological data, observing patient responses and providing interventions when needed.
Administer medications, initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products as prescribed.
Develop and communicate care plans with patients and families, ensuring understanding of hospital procedures.
Provide discharge planning and education to patients and families.
Refer patient care needs to appropriate healthcare personnel and delegate tasks to support staff.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Current RN License from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to meet diverse cultural and language needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program.
Education: Bachelors Degree
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
