The Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room provides high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic emergency department. This role involves assisting with overflow and bed expansion while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to address urgent medical needs, ensuring optimal care for patients in critical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care Delivery:
Provide exceptional care to patients in the emergency department, including managing overflow and supporting bed expansion in hallways as needed.
Administer treatments, medications, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and patient needs.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, including physicians, technicians, and other nursing staff.
Ensure effective communication with patients and their families, providing updates on care and treatment plans.
Safety & Efficiency:
Maintain a safe and efficient environment while adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Ensure patient safety through adherence to infection control protocols and accurate documentation of patient care.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department (ED).
Availability to work every other weekend (EOW) and one winter holiday.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) will be considered.
Strong adaptability and ability to perform under pressure in a high-acuity setting.
Certifications:
Required: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Preferred: Advanced certifications in emergency care (e.g., ACLS, PALS) may be advantageous.
Education and Experience:
Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Preferred: BSN and experience in an Emergency Room or high-acuity setting.

Certification: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
