The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides perioperative care to surgical patients in recovery, procedure, and operating rooms. This role involves preparing and assisting patients for surgery, stocking operating rooms, applying sterile techniques, and collaborating with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide perioperative care for surgical patients in recovery, procedure, and operating rooms.
Stock operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies to ensure readiness for procedures.
Develop and implement nursing care plans tailored to the needs of surgical patients.
Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting the areas to be operated on.
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring efficient workflow and patient safety.
Apply sterile techniques in handling medical instruments and equipment throughout the surgical process (pre-, during, and post-surgery).
Collaborate with the surgical team and other medical professionals to manage patient medication and post-surgery care.
Update patient files and medical records accurately to reflect the surgical process and post-operative care.
Assist with ordering, maintaining, and safely storing surgical equipment and supplies.
Provide patients with post-surgery care instructions and address any questions or concerns they may have.
Required Experience:
2+ years of Cardiac Surgery experience required.
Comfort with circulating and/or scrubbing in the operating room.
Level 1 trauma experience preferred.

Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Registered Nurse (RN) license
