Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse for a 12-hour PM shift, working 36 hours per week on nights with alternating weekends and holidays. The position involves Phase 1 recovery for large, complex neuro, thoracic, vascular, and orthopedic spine cases. Pediatric experience is preferred. Candidates must have strong telemetry interpretation skills, including identifying heart blocks, and must pass a telemetry test on day one with a score of 84% or higher.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform Phase 1 PACU recovery for complex neuro, thoracic, vascular, orthopedic spine, and pediatric cases.
• Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks. • Float to Moakley PACU as needed.
• Assist with trauma, pediatrics, ortho, general, cardiac cath, interventional radiology (IR), neuro (IR), and electrophysiology (EP) cases.
• Work as part of a unit that handles an average of 30–60 cases per day, operating 24/7.
Required Experience
• Minimum of 2 years PACU experience, with a focus on Phase 1 recovery for large, complex cases.
Required Certifications
• BLS (Basic Life Support).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
Preferred Experience
• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course).
Shifts
• 12-hour shifts starting at 6 AM, 7 AM, or 8 AM for days, and 9 AM, 10 AM, or 11 AM for evenings.
• Work every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday, as needed.
• No on-call requirements.
