Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Nurse to provide exceptional care to pre- and post-surgery patients. In this role, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-operative care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in coordination with the healthcare team.
  • Provide direct bedside nursing care to surgical patients before and after procedures.
  • Administer prescribed medications, document dosages, and monitor patient responses.
  • Perform routine procedures such as changing dressings, inserting catheters, and initiating IVs.
  • Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment as necessary, while interpreting and recording measurements.
  • Monitor vital signs and promptly report any adverse reactions or changes in patient condition.
  • Assist in discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home care.
  • Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and self-care practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient files, charts, and medical records.
  • Adhere to established nursing protocols, best practices, and healthcare standards.

Qualifications:

Licensure/Certification:

  • Active RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong clinical skills in surgical care and patient monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in pre- and post-operative care is preferred.

Certification: Basic Life Support
