The Registered Nurse in Obstetrics provides high-quality nursing care to maternal and newborn patients under the direction of the Acute Care Directors. This role encompasses labor and delivery, postpartum, and C-section care for both patients and their babies. The RN will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a supportive and compassionate environment that aligns with the hospital's caring philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care: Deliver quality nursing care to maternal and newborn patients throughout labor, delivery, postpartum, and C-section processes.
Collaboration: Work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive services that reflect the caring philosophy of the hospital.
Monitoring: Assess and monitor the health and progress of both mother and baby during labor and after delivery.
Patient Education: Educate patients and families on care procedures, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions in compliance with hospital policies.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies and complications during labor and delivery with appropriate interventions.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and STABLE certification preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in obstetrics or maternal-child health nursing is an asset.
Certification: Basic Life Support , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
