Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Information Management: Obtain and record patient medical histories, vital signs, test results, and other essential information, ensuring strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Administrative Coordination: Coordinate daily activities, including scheduling appointments, patient check-in/check-out, and maintaining accurate patient medical records.
  • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms for clinical exams, assist practitioners during medical procedures, and provide additional support for patient care as needed.
  • Patient and Family Support: Provide compassionate care, offering attention and assistance to patients and their families throughout the care process.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with health care regulations, including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards.
  • Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications to patients as directed by physicians, ensuring correct dosages and patient safety.
  • Biopsy Collection: Assist with the collection and documentation of biopsies, ensuring proper handling and patient comfort.

Required Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA and OSHA regulations and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to float between multiple locations (La Mesa and San Marcos).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle both clinical and administrative duties.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to work effectively with patients and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in back-office support roles, particularly in medical documentation and patient care.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with biopsy collection and handling medical instruments.

Certifications (if any):
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification (preferred).
