We are seeking a skilled and dedicated General Radiology Technologist to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for obtaining high-quality radiographs of patients, ensuring radiation safety for both patients and self, and performing computer operations such as using Meditech and PACS. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, professional environment. The Radiology Technologist will also assist the radiologist in various tasks, maintain equipment, and ensure cleanliness and organization within the radiology department.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain high-quality radiographs of patients within the department and using portable equipment in a timely manner.
Comply with radiation safety guidelines for both patients and self, and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
Operate radiographic equipment safely and competently.
Demonstrate proficiency in performing necessary computer operations, including Meditech and PACS.
Verify that proper charges are entered and referring physician’s orders are accurate.
Provide professional and courteous patient care during procedures.
Prepare examination rooms for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and ensure rooms are clean and well-organized.
Monitor inventory levels of supplies during room rotation.
Assist the radiologist in administering medications, contrast agents, and various types of patient care.
Review each exam for technical accuracy (e.g., markers on images, technical quality, anatomical positioning, and annotation) and verify in PACS.
Assist the Diagnostic Supervisor with PACS maintenance tasks, such as cleaning CR plates, erasing cassettes, and sending completed exams from workstations.
Maintain personal educational requirements to stay current in the field.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient and employee information in accordance with policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification (required).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (required).
Proven ability to obtain high-quality radiographs and operate radiographic equipment safely.
Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing radiographs for technical accuracy.
Ability to maintain professionalism and courtesy when interacting with patients and team members.
Proficient in the use of Meditech and PACS.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a hospital or clinical radiology setting.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications:
ARRT Certification (required).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (required).
