Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Cardiac Telemetry / Stroke & Neuro Unit. The ideal candidate will have extensive cardiac experience and be capable of providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position requires proficiency in cardiac care and familiarity with stroke and neuro patients. The RN will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care to patients, ensuring safety and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Utilizes the nursing process in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Medication Administration: Administers prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and state laws.
- Documentation: Ensures accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, in line with standards of care.
- Care Plan Development: Develops, initiates, and executes individualized patient care plans as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with hospital policies, including providing patient and family education.
- Performance Improvement: Actively participates in departmental or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance initiatives.
- Collaboration: Provides clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments to support the patient’s longitudinal care plan.
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrates critical thinking in patient safety and experience, escalating issues to the appropriate chain of command when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Active and current Illinois RN License
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza
Preferred Qualifications (if any):
- Experience in Cardiac Telemetry and Stroke/Neuro care preferred
Certifications (if any):
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications are mandatory for this role.
Education: Bachelors Degree
Certification: Basic Life Support , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
