Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse - Neurology provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. The nurse is responsible for ensuring optimal patient care and collaborating with the healthcare team to meet patient needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
Administer and monitor prescribed medical treatments and interventions.
Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients; observe and intervene when necessary based on patients' physiological manifestations.
Administer medications as prescribed.
Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous (IV) infusions and blood products.
Deliver competent patient care and support patients throughout their treatment.
Patient and Family Interaction:
Share and discuss care plans with patients and their families, both during hospitalization and at the time of discharge.
Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel and departments.
Delegate tasks to support staff to ensure effective patient care.
General Responsibilities:

Skills:
Required Skills & Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in a nursing role.
Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques effectively.
Capability to maintain good working relationships with other healthcare team members.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.

Education:
Required Education:
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an approved program.
Certifications & Licensure:
Required Certifications & Licensure:
Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
