The Echo Technologist is responsible for conducting various cardiological tests, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining cardiological equipment. This role plays a crucial part in supporting physicians and delivering high-quality care to patients with cardiovascular concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct electrocardiograms (EKG), phonocardiograms, echocardiograms, and stress tests using electronic equipment.
Ensure cardiology patients are comfortable by addressing their questions regarding the tests.
Record the results of cardiological tests and collaborate with the physician to schedule any necessary follow-up tests.
Assist physicians during non-invasive cardiological procedures by monitoring patients' heart rates and alerting them to any readings outside normal ranges.
Maintain cardiological equipment and supplies through daily cleaning and adjustments.
Monitor supply inventory levels and restock the supply storeroom accordingly.
Troubleshoot issues with cardiological equipment and report any malfunctions to superiors.
Stay updated on cardiological developments by attending conferences and participating in research projects.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a cardiology technician.
Excellent knowledge of cardiovascular diseases, diagnosis, and treatment.
Proficiency in using cardiological equipment, including EKG machinery.
Proven ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment.
Solid understanding of professional medical standards, policies, and procedures, along with federal, state, and local regulations.
Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers.
Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications in cardiology technology or related fields.
