We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Core Laboratory Technician to join our clinical laboratory team. This role involves performing waived, moderate, and/or high-complexity tests and procedures under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor. The technician will be responsible for conducting diagnostic analyses, producing accurate laboratory results, and supporting patient care through precise laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform waived, moderate, and/or high-complexity clinical laboratory tests and procedures across various laboratory sections.
Conduct diagnostic testing on a wide range of specimens, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
Document laboratory results meticulously, maintaining high standards of quality and reliability for diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
May be required to perform phlebotomy for diagnostic testing on patients of all age groups, following proper procedures and safety guidelines.
Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols, quality control measures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and test discrepancies, escalating issues to the Supervisor as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
Participate in ongoing training, proficiency testing, and continuing education to stay current with laboratory practices and advancements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required.
Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills for accurate result interpretation.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and basic computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a clinical laboratory setting, particularly with high-complexity testing.
Familiarity with regulatory standards such as CLIA, CAP, or Joint Commission.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain quality standards.
Certifications:
Required: American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.
Additional certifications in phlebotomy or specialized laboratory techniques are a plus.
