Surgical Technician

Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician will assist in the preparation and performance of surgeries by providing technical support to surgeons and other medical staff. 
This role involves preparing and maintaining sterile environments, organizing surgical instruments, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile drapes, surgical instruments, and equipment for procedures.
  • Assist surgeons during surgeries by handing instruments, holding retractors, and managing other tasks as directed.
  • Maintain sterile techniques throughout the surgical procedure to prevent infections.
  • Monitor and track surgical instruments and supplies to ensure proper inventory and usage.
  • Assist with patient positioning on the operating table, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Clean and disinfect the operating room and surgical instruments after procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures, instruments, and equipment used.
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare staff to provide exceptional patient care.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
  • Knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with surgical teams.
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail during surgical procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Experience in specific surgical specialties (e.g., orthopedics, neurosurgery, etc.).

Certifications:
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred (if applicable).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) or ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (preferred).
