The Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides specialized care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in a high-acuity environment. This role requires advanced clinical skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to collaborate with pediatric specialists and families to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and assess pediatric patients with complex and life-threatening conditions.
Administer medications, treatments, and life-support interventions as prescribed.
Collaborate with pediatricians, intensivists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
Educate families on diagnoses, procedures, and post-discharge care.
Respond to emergencies and changes in patient condition with appropriate interventions.
Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
Support a healing environment through childand family-centered care.
Required Qualifications
1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
Basic Life Support (BLS).
Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
