The Registered Nurse MS/Tele is responsible for providing specialized care to patients in the Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units. This role involves continuous monitoring of patients’ vital signs, interpreting cardiac rhythms, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The nurse plays a critical role in managing patients with acute conditions, particularly those requiring cardiac monitoring, and supports recovery through vigilant observation and timely interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment
Track and document vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate emergency interventions
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-hospital care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts
Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the care process
Participate in discharge planning and provide home care instructions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry unit
Proficiency in telemetry monitoring systems and electronic health records
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in cardiac care or progressive care units
Familiarity with patient management systems like Epic or Cerner
Certifications
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
