The Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides high-acuity, life-saving care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and complex interventions. This role demands advanced clinical expertise, rapid decision-making, and close collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to stabilize and support patients in life-threatening conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and assess critically ill patients using advanced equipment and clinical judgment.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and life-support treatments as prescribed.
Respond to emergencies and changes in patient condition with timely interventions.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
Collaborate with intensivists, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
Educate patients and families on conditions, procedures, and recovery expectations.
Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
Participate in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in critical care.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
Basic Life Support (BLS).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
CCRN certification preferred.
