• Patient Care: Provide nursing care for postpartum mothers and newborns, ensuring high-quality care standards and patient safety.
• Monitoring: Conduct and interpret electronic fetal monitoring, adult cardiac monitoring, and newborn monitoring (including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring).
• Clinical Skills: Perform IV insertions, lab draws, heel sticks, venipuncture, and other clinical tasks as needed.
• Medication Administration: Administer high-risk medications (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin) and manage newborn medication including IV administration.
• Testing & Procedures: Perform Urine Point of Care testing, capillary blood glucose testing, and IStat testing.
• Newborn Care: Utilize newborn equipment such as radiant warmers, bili-blankets/lights, and provide necessary newborn care (including performing heel sticks and venipuncture).
• Patient Education: Provide education to mothers on maternal-newborn care, post-operative bladder training, and gyn teaching as appropriate.
• Collaborative Care: Work closely with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care and smooth patient transitions through the postpartum period.
• Documentation: Accurately document patient care, interventions, and progress in accordance with hospital policies.

1. 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent nursing experience
2. Graduate of an accredited nursing program
3. Active Registered Nurse License in the state where care is provided
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
5. Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
6. Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring and IV insertion
7. Knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin)
8. Ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing and capillary blood glucose testing
9. Proficiency with IStat and adult cardiac monitoring
10. Knowledge of newborn monitors, including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
11. Ability to perform heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns
12. Knowledge of newborn medication administration, including IV administration and maintenance
13. Understanding of Bili-blankets, radiant warmers, and supporting maternal-newborn education

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of labor and delivery experience
• Minimum 3 years of postpartum experience
• At least 1 year of medical/surgical nursing experience
