The Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) provides specialized care to critically ill patients with cardiac conditions. This role involves continuous monitoring, advanced clinical interventions, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care in a cardiovascular intensive care setting
Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac conditions and devices
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Perform and interpret cardiac monitoring and assessments
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop care plans
Maintain accurate documentation of patient status and interventions
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
Participate in emergency response and resuscitation efforts
Contribute to quality improvement and professional development initiatives
Required Qualifications
1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
One (1) year of current experience in progressive or intermediate care unit preferred
Certifications
