The Pediatric Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in a healthcare setting. This role ensures safe, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate care while collaborating with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote positive health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment procedures for pediatric patients
Monitor patient conditions, document changes, and communicate effectively with physicians and caregivers
Support families by educating them on treatment plans, preventive care, and home management strategies
Collaborate with pediatricians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Maintain infection control practices and adhere to facility policies and regulatory requirements
Provide emotional support to children and families, ensuring a safe and comforting environment
Supervise and guide nursing assistants and support staff in pediatric care practices
Required Qualifications
Education: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN/BSN)
Experience: Prior experience in pediatric nursing or healthcare setting preferred
Skills: Strong clinical assessment abilities, communication skills, and ability to work effectively with children and families
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
Experience in pediatric specialty units (e.g., neonatal, oncology, cardiology)
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Advanced pediatric life support training
Certifications (if any)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in applicable state
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
