The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This role ensures patient safety and comfort throughout the peri-procedural process, collaborates with physicians and technologists, and delivers high-quality care in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures
Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, and electrophysiology studies
Monitor patient vital signs, hemodynamic status, and responses to sedation or anesthesia
Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed
Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and post-procedure care
Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR)
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols within the Cath Lab environment
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
Education: Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN/BSN)
Experience: Prior experience in critical care, telemetry, or cardiac nursing preferred
Skills: Strong clinical assessment abilities, ability to work in high-stress environments, and effective communication skills

Experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or interventional cardiology setting
Familiarity with advanced cardiac monitoring equipment and EHR systems
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or similar specialty certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
