The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of radiographic techniques, patient care, and safety protocols. The technologist ensures high-quality imaging while maintaining patient comfort and adhering to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images of various body parts
Position patients correctly and ensure their safety and comfort during procedures
Follow physician instructions regarding areas of the body to image
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control procedures
Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions
Assist in maintaining inventory of radiology supplies
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology
Valid state license or certification as required
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiographic positioning
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a hospital or clinical radiology setting
Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
