The Registered Nurse (RN) – Skilled Nursing Facility provides high-quality nursing care to residents in a post-acute or long-term care setting. This role is responsible for assessing residents’ health status, administering medications and treatments, and coordinating care to promote optimal recovery and well-being. The RN works closely with physicians, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and families to ensure a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for each resident.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with facility policies.
Monitor residents for changes in condition and report findings to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Supervise and guide licensed and unlicensed nursing staff to ensure high-quality care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in residents’ medical records.
Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
Ensure compliance with infection control standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support overall care goals.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)Eor Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
Prior experience in rehabilitation or geriatric nursing.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to long-term care.
Experience with electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.
Certifications (if any)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – preferred.
