Job Summary
The Registered Nurse – ER Pediatrics provides specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting. This role requires strong clinical expertise, the ability to respond quickly to critical situations, and compassionate communication with children, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver safe, effective, and age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients in the emergency department.
  2. Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document changes accurately.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following pediatric protocols.
  4. Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with procedures and interventions.
  5. Support triage processes and prioritize patient needs based on acuity.
  6. Educate and reassure patients’ families regarding care plans and treatment options.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient department flow.
  8. Adhere to infection control standards and all regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications
  1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  2. Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience, with exposure to emergency or pediatric care.
  3. Strong critical thinking and multitasking abilities.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and families.
  5. Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Preferred Qualifications (if any)
  1. Prior experience in a pediatric emergency department or pediatric intensive care unit.
  2. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training.

Certifications (if any)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
  • Additional ER-related certifications may be required depending on facility protocols.

Education: Associate's Degree

Certification: Basic Life Support , Pediatric Advanced Life Support
