1. Provide direct patient care to post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia in accordance with established nursing standards and protocols.
2. Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs, airway, consciousness, and pain levels, ensuring safe and effective recovery.
3. Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed, including pain management and antiemetic therapies.
4. Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, implementing appropriate interventions and notifying anesthesia or surgical teams as needed.
5. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
6. Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records (EMRs) and recovery documentation.
7. Provide emotional support and education to patients and families during the recovery and discharge process.
8. Ensure compliance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and hospital policies.
9. Maintain cleanliness and readiness of PACU equipment, monitors, and emergency supplies.
10. Participate in ongoing training, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance professional practice.

1. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment or a compact state license.
2. Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience; prior PACU, critical care, or ICU experience strongly preferred.
3. Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.
5. Proficient in electronic charting and patient documentation.

1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
2. Experience in ambulatory surgery centers or acute care hospitals.

1. Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
2. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required
3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Preferred (depending on patient population)

Education: Bachelors Degree

Certification: Basic Life Support , Advanced Cardiac Life Support
