Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician responsible for assisting physicians and nurses in performing endoscopic procedures, preparing and maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and sterilization standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a clinical setting, and the competence to manage scopes and support endoscopic procedures efficiently.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain inventory of endoscopic equipment and supplies
- Perform safety checks to ensure proper functionality of equipment
- Prepare procedure rooms according to endoscopic requirements
- Clean, disinfect, and calibrate scopes and endoscopic instruments as per manufacturer and facility guidelines
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on endoscopic equipment
- Position or transport patients based on medical personnel instructions
- Assist physicians or registered nurses during endoscopic procedures
- Attend in-service training sessions to maintain or enhance professional skills
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of endoscopic instruments and sterilization techniques
- Basic patient handling and positioning skills
- Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
- Strong attention to cleanliness, hygiene, and procedural compliance
- Ability to follow detailed instructions from physicians and RNs
- Effective communication and teamwork in a clinical environment
Preferred Skills:
- Additional experience working with scope sterilization systems
- Familiarity with various types of endoscopic procedures and equipment brands
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
Education: High School
Certification: Basic Life Support
