The Travel Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) provides compassionate, hands-on care to patients across various healthcare settings while working on temporary assignments. This role supports nursing staff by assisting with daily patient needs, monitoring health status, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Travel LNAs must adapt quickly to new facilities and maintain compliance with state regulations and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
Record and report vital signs, patient observations, and changes in condition to nursing staff
Support patients with ambulation, transfers, and positioning to promote comfort and safety
Maintain clean and organized patient rooms and ensure proper stocking of supplies
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families
Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care
Adapt to varying facility protocols and patient populations across assignments
Required Qualifications
Current LNA certification in the state of practice (or compact license if applicable)
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
Prior travel healthcare experience
Experience in multiple care settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or long-term care facilities
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Certifications (if any)
Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
Additional specialty certifications (e.g., dementia care, restorative care) – preferred
