The Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides high-quality nursing care to patients across various healthcare settings while working on temporary assignments. This role offers the opportunity to gain diverse clinical experience, support facilities with staffing needs, and deliver compassionate care in different geographic locations. Travel LPNs must adapt quickly to new environments and maintain compliance with facility policies and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians
Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed
Monitor patient health, record vital signs, and document care in electronic medical records (EMR)
Assist with patient education and discharge instructions
Support daily clinical operations, including patient assessments and routine procedures
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
Adapt to varying facility protocols and patient populations across assignments
Required Qualifications
Current LPN license in the state of practice (or compact license if applicable)
Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to travel and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Demonstrated adaptability to new environments and patient care settings
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
Prior travel nursing experience
Experience in multiple specialties such as medical-surgical, long-term care, or outpatient clinics
Familiarity with different EMR systems
Certifications (if any)
Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
Additional specialty certifications (e.g., IV therapy, wound care) – preferred
