We are seeking a qualified and dedicated American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to provide communication support for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. The interpreter will facilitate effective communication between clients, staff, and other stakeholders in a variety of settings, ensuring accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and confidentiality. This role requires strong language proficiency, professionalism, and the ability to adapt to diverse environments.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa during meetings, appointments, and events.
Provide accurate, clear, and culturally appropriate communication support.
Assist clients in understanding complex information, including medical, educational, and workplace terminology.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
Collaborate with staff and service providers to ensure inclusive communication.
Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant materials and terminology.
Document services provided according to organizational policies.
Stay current with best practices and developments in ASL interpretation.
Required Qualifications
Fluency in American Sign Language and English.
Completion of an accredited interpreter training program.
Strong knowledge of deaf culture and communication needs.
Excellent listening, concentration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in varied settings (medical, educational, corporate, community).
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
Prior experience as a professional ASL interpreter in healthcare, education, or corporate environments.
Familiarity with specialized terminology (medical, legal, technical).

Certifications (if any)
