The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse provides specialized care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced medical interventions. This role involves managing complex patient conditions, administering life-saving treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes in a high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct patient care in an intensive care setting
Monitor and manage patients with life-threatening conditions
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Perform and interpret advanced clinical assessments
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop care plans
Respond to emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts
Maintain accurate documentation of patient status and interventions
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
Participate in quality improvement and professional development initiatives
Required Qualifications
1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field
Two (2) years of recent ICU nursing experience preferred
NIH Stroke Scale Certificate
CCRN preferred
Dialysis, SLED or equivalent experience preferred
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
