We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to deliver accurate and high-quality radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians.
This role involves working collaboratively with front office staff, radiation oncology nurses, physicists, and dosimetrists to ensure patients receive precise treatment in a supportive and emotionally healing environment.
The therapist will support all phases of the treatment process, ensuring smooth transitions and optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver radiation therapy treatments with high technical accuracy using proper setup and calculation parameters.
Process and film orthogonal/port films as prescribed, following departmental protocols.
Maintain and update patient scheduling for treatments, simulations, and other procedures.
Follow safety procedures and report equipment malfunctions or safety incidents promptly.
Simulate patients and design custom blockings, ensuring reproducibility and comfort.
Perform treatment calculations using computer systems to ensure accuracy.
Maintain accurate billing and charges for radiation therapy services.
Keep work areas clean and stocked; disinfect equipment regularly.
Conduct daily quality assurance checks on treatment machines, simulators, and CT scanners.
Participate in chart rounds and contribute to team efforts in documentation and supply management.
Identify and share opportunities for improving patient and guest satisfaction.
Attend required training and adhere to corporate and departmental policies.
Be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
Completion of a 2-year Diagnostic School Program.
Minimum 1 year of experience in radiation therapy.
A.R.R.T. Registered.
American Heart Association BLS Certification.
Knowledge of therapy equipment including linear accelerators, HDR, CT, simulators, and information systems (preferably Varian).
Strong communication skills and sensitivity to patient needs.
Ability to work collaboratively under clinical guidance.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program.
Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
