Registered Nurse ICU - Cardiovascular

Job Summary  
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This role involves providing high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. The RN will collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compassionate, and effective patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct patient care for assigned CVICU patients
  2. Monitor patient conditions, interpret clinical data, and document responses to treatment
  3. Administer medications, IV infusions, and blood products according to physician orders
  4. Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and interventions
  5. Observe patient conditions and intervene promptly when necessary
  6. Educate patients and families on care plans, recovery expectations, and procedures
  7. Coordinate with healthcare teams and delegate tasks to support staff
  8. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and safety standards

Required Qualifications
Experience
  1. Minimum 2 year ICU experience (Level 1 Trauma ICU required)
  2. At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
  3. Cardiac care experience required

Education
  1. Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)

Certifications
  1. Active RN License (Compact State)
  2. Basic Life Support (BLS – AHA)
  3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS – AHA)

Skills & Competencies
  1. Strong clinical and critical thinking skills
  2. Ability to manage complex cardiovascular patient cases
  3. Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  4. Basic computer proficiency for documentation and patient records
  5. High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

Work Environment
  1. Fast-paced cardiovascular ICU setting
  2. Frequent standing, walking, and patient care activities throughout the shift
  3. Exposure to critical care equipment, alarms, and emergency interventions

Education: Bachelors Degree

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) , Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
