We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our rapidly growing healthcare team in the Bay Area. Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will perform a range of tasks, including answering telephone calls, relaying messages, verifying patient demographics and insurance information, and scheduling appointments. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will perform back-office duties such as rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and reviewing patients’ medical records to assist with patient inquiries. This position provides the opportunity to work closely with a team of healthcare providers in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer incoming phone calls and relay messages to appropriate staff members.
Verify patients’ demographics and insurance information during each visit.
Schedule patient appointments and manage appointment calendars.
Room patients and take accurate vital signs.
Review and assist with patient inquiries related to their medical records.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Assist healthcare providers with any clinical or administrative tasks as needed.
Float between different practice locations as required.
Required Qualifications:
Medical Assistant diploma or certificate.
High School Diploma or GED.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to actively listen and respond effectively.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well with patients, healthcare providers, and staff.
Legible handwriting and attention to detail.
Basic computer skills, including keyboarding, mouse movement, and data entry into an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
6 months to 1 year of prior experience as a Medical Assistant.
Ability to float between different practice sites as needed.
Certifications:
Medical Assistant Certification (preferred, depending on state requirements).
