The Pharmacy Manager serves as the Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing daily pharmacy operations, staff management, and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for ensuring safe and effective medication dispensing, maintaining quality standards, and supporting clinical pharmacy functions. The position also focuses on developing processes to improve workflow efficiency, staff performance, and overall departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily pharmacy operations, including staff scheduling and task assignments
Perform pharmacist duties, including dispensing medications and supporting clinical functions
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards
Develop and implement systems for quality assurance and performance improvement
Establish and maintain efficient workflows and operational processes
Serve as a resource for staff education, training, and standard operating procedures
Provide guidance and oversight to pharmacy staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Collaborate with leadership to support departmental and organizational goals
Remain available to address operational issues as needed outside standard hours
Required Qualifications
Active Pharmacist license (California Board of Pharmacy)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
Experience in pharmacy operations and staff supervision
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and pharmacy best practices
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of recent pharmacy managerial experience in a hospital setting
Experience in developing and improving pharmacy workflows and operational processes
