JOB SUMMARY
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) to patients at the Eastern Montana Veterans Home. The COTA will assist patients in improving their ability to perform daily living and work activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans designed by the OT.
• Guide patients through exercises and activities designed to improve their physical and cognitive abilities.
• Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and strategies.
• Monitor patient progress and report findings to the supervising OT.
• Document patient care and progress accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Schedule / Shift

Required Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Montana State Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience
• Prior experience working as a COTA is preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
• Knowledge of therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Proficiency in electronic health record documentation.
