The X-ray Technologist is responsible for performing radiological procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This position involves preparing the examination room and equipment, positioning patients for x-ray procedures, operating the x-ray machine, and developing/processing radiological films. The technologist will work closely with patients to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the imaging process, adhering to established safety protocols and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare for Radiological Procedures:
Set up the examination room with the necessary equipment and instruments based on patient needs.
Ensure all radiological equipment is properly calibrated and functioning.
Patient Positioning & Imaging:
Position patients correctly to capture the appropriate images required for diagnostic purposes.
Operate the x-ray machine according to established protocols to ensure high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure.
Radiological Film Handling:
Develop and process radiological films as per department guidelines.
Select appropriate films for the specific radiological examination.
Patient Safety & Comfort:
Ensure that patients are comfortable and well-informed throughout the imaging process.
Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to both patients and staff.
Collaboration & Documentation:
Work closely with radiologists and healthcare teams to ensure the accurate interpretation of radiological images.
Document all procedures and patient information accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Job Requirements
Education:
AART Certification required.
Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience required to apply for unit-specific roles.
Licenses & Certifications:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Additional Requirements:
COVID-19 vaccination required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
Previous experience working in a radiology department or hospital setting is preferred.
Experience with advanced imaging technologies is a plus.
