Surgical Tech

JOB SUMMARY
Provide direct patient care and assist surgeons during operative procedures as a Surgical Technologist.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Arrange and inventory surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeons by handing them instruments, supplies, and medications.
- Maintain sterile technique throughout the operative procedure.
- Account for all supplies and instruments used during surgery.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation.
- Document care provided.

Schedule / Shift
- M-F
- Two 6:45a-7:15p shifts
- Two 10:45a-7:15p shifts
- 13-week assignment

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty.
- Recent experience in ortho, total joints, spine, and craniotomy.

Certifications
- AHA BLS

Experience
- Surgical Technologist experience with a focus on orthopedic, neurosurgery, and urology.

Skills
- Proficient in sterile technique.
- Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and equipment.
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

EMR / Systems
- Cerner

Patient Population
- Adult surgical patients.

Unit / Specialty
- Main Surgical Unit for Northside Atlanta Campus.
- Open 24/7.
- Case volume varies between 28-55 cases per day.
- Service lines include Ortho, Neuro, Urology, General, and Thoracic.

Floating / On-Call
- Ability to work within a fast-paced surgical environment.
